Meet Eve!

Eve is a member of the PaleoMIX team at the University of Tartu. She is a zooarchaeologist, meaning she studies animal remains from archaeological sites. Her main research interests are livestock husbandry in the past, the history of native breeds, and the use of biomolecular methods. The faunal material she has studied covers periods from the Stone Age to the present day. Eve believes that in our modern world where we face many challenges, zooarchaeology continues to hold its importance. In her own research of studying the history of native breeds, she aims to contribute to the conservation of those endangered breeds and the diversity, sustainability, and traditions they carry. It is also important for her to share zooarchaeological knowledge and everything it teaches us about the past, present, and future.
